Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on reaching deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It aims to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons, and fascia.

Your therapist may use their forearms, elbows, fingertips, or knuckles to apply the increased pressure. This technique can be beneficial for people with chronic pain, muscle tension, or injuries.

In contrast to traditional massage therapy, which primarily aims at relaxation, deep tissue massage is typically directed towards addressing specific issues.

It's important to note that deep tissue massage can be intense, and it's common to experience some soreness during or after the massage. It's crucial to communicate with your massage therapist about your comfort level.
